
Research Interests: Spintronics
He received his Bachelor’s and PhD degrees from the Department of Physics, Fudan University in 1997 and 2001 respectively. During his postgraduate studies, he visited the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Max Planck Institute in Germany. Afterwards, he carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Utah and the University of California, Riverside, and was awarded the Outstanding Research Award by the Department of Physics, University of Utah.He joined Nanjing University as a professor in 2007. He was selected for the Training Program for Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Academic Leaders of Nanjing University in 2011 and appointed as Tang Zhongying Distinguished Professor in 2013. He was included in the New Century Excellent Talents Program of the Ministry of Education in 2008, granted the inaugural National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars in 2012, and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2020.He has presided over a number of research projects including National Major Research Programs and Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published papers in top international journals such as Nature, Nature Physics and Physical Review Letters. He currently serves as Chair of the Department of Physics, School of Physics.
