On May 18, 2025, the First Meeting of the Academic Committee of Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Quantum Information Science and Technology was officially held at Shishan Quantum Computation and Quantum Detection Laboratory. The meeting aimed to pool the wisdom of experts to discuss the development of the provincial key laboratory, map out its future development direction, and lay a foundation for the laboratory to become a world-class scientific research platform.
At the beginning of the meeting, members of the Academic Committee, accompanied by Professor Yu Yang, Director of Shishan Quantum Computation and Quantum Detection Laboratory, visited the exhibition hall and core scientific research facilities of the laboratory, including the superconducting quantum-chip measurement and control system and the cryogenic experimental platform. The committee members highly praised the hardware configuration and scientific research environment of Shishan Laboratory, and took a group photo in front of the laboratory as a souvenir.
Professor Yu Yang, Director of Shishan Laboratory, gave a special report on three aspects of the provincial key laboratory: its main tasks and assessment indicators, talent team, and organizational operation and management system. The experts fully affirmed the phased construction achievements of the provincial key laboratory and put forward strategic suggestions for its future development.
Subsequently, participants of the Academic Committee conducted in-depth discussions on the scale, funding, venue and research tasks of the provincial key laboratory, and held relevant deliberations and discussions based on the management measures for provincial key laboratories. The experts unanimously agreed that the laboratory should strengthen interdisciplinary integration, deepen the industry-university-research collaboration mechanism, and promote the integration of quantum technology with regional industrial advantages.
This meeting marks the official entry of Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Quantum Information Science and Technology into a stage of systematic and standardized development. The Academic Committee will give full play to its role in guiding the laboratory to tackle key technical problems and promoting the leap of quantum technology from basic research to industrial application. Professor Yu Yang, Director of Shishan Laboratory, said, We will take this meeting as an opportunity to accelerate the construction of a world-class scientific research platform and contribute our efforts to the development of China's quantum technology.
